The EU best practices, national trends, priorities and cultures in higher education quality assurance are studied and analysed based on experience of Technical University of Kosice.
The main focus of study is Slovak QA and ISO standartisation of TUKE.
The main conclusions:- standartisation according to the ISO 9001:2000 supports life-long increase of the university quality manadgement effieciency and education service. It made the University analyse and optimize its management structure; simplify and automate all internal administrative processes;
- University autonomy, participation in international projects, transparency of the QA procedures (e.g. mandatory Web-publication of data used for ranking), etc. are the main results of the new QA system;
- QMS is implemented in two ways: one system (QMS) for one university; individual QMS for each faculty;
Quality Management System Applied in Education (QMSE) declares the teaching staff professional approach; composes a formulation of the quality measures and quality criteria for education; maintains a student discipline and interest in education, appropriate study programs, fulfilling educational needs of students and ability of self-management; strengthens the trust of public into the teaching/education and the self-confidence&self/awareness of teachers; makes closer match of education process and the needs&expectations of internal and external partners.
